Real Developments, Inc. was established in 1994 by John and Debbie Harris.  They form a strong team offering a full range of services, including design, layout and product selection. Debbie specializes in customizing each home to their client’s taste and way of life; with her emphasis on kitchens and bathrooms. John’s specialty is solid quality construction, craftsmanship and design. Their philosophy is that reputations are built one client at a time, and they build their homes as if they were going to live in them.

John worked for construction and development companies while attending and graduating from Old Dominion University with a business degree. During a 10-year career at Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority, he learned the importance and process of home planning, design, constructing buildings and community development. Debbie has 23 years of Retail Management / Buyer / Customer Service / Accounting experience prior to entering custom home building. John and Debbie built and remodeled several homes for themselves prior to starting Real Developments, Inc. They had such a wonderful experiences that it sparked their passion to build homes for others.
